Update: I uninstalled the Nero trial version for the Memorex DVD Writer 8x. I just don't want to buy the software and find out I still have the same problem.no audio.

Maybe it will work if in a full capacity (not trial). I thought about buying the Nero 2015 Platinum software. It only proves nothing is going to change. Since it is a trial version of Nero QwikHome, I'm afraid reinstalling might veto my trial version or say 'I've already registered' or some other snag. It was also suggested that I try reinstalling the trial version operating disc. I'll try it tonight and let you know if that works. I think I tried that, but will try it again with everything plugged into A/C. It was suggested to try hooking up an external speaker. I assume there is enough power supply because it does have the splitter and provides a picture, but yet I am leaning toward the Memorex Slim External DVD Writer since it does get a beautiful visual and has more features available.
